Constituents Holding Rally at Glenn Thompson’s Bellefonte Office Tomorrow Morning

Tomorrow, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Centre County residents are holding a rally outside of Glenn Thompson‘s Bellefonte office, located at 3555 Benner Pike, to express their discontent with Thompson that he has yet to hold a town hall in State College and is afraid to directly address the concerns of his constituents. The protesters expect that Thompson will be present in the office at that time, and are challenging him to schedule a town hall for April 15th at 2:00 p.m. in Penn State’s Thomas building. Thompson was first elected to represent the 5th Congressional district in 2009, and was re-elected to his 5th term last November.

The rally comes less than two week after those same constituents held a town hall without Thompson in Penn State’s forum building, at which angry 5th district constituents expressed their displeasure with Thompson over his efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, his stance on climate change, and his unwillingness to properly challenge President Trump over his efforts to delegitimize the media and his connections to Russia. Thompson is likely afraid that, were he to hold a town hall, it would quickly deteriorate into a frenzy, as many other Republican town halls held in the wake of Trump’s election have.

Any questions related to the rally can be directed to its organizer, Marc Friedenberg.
