UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Underground announced Monday that the organization will add Nicole Dantzler and Megan Fletcher to the site’s editorial board as a news editor and copy editor respectively.
Dantzler, a rising senior studying broadcast journalism, will join the editorial board as The Underground’s news editor. She is the first to hold the position. Dantzler’s duties will include leading a team of breaking news journalists while also ensuring coverage of major events on campus.
“I’m excited about this position because I get to encourage, motivate, and teach other writers in a fast paced environment,” she said. “This kind of position aligns with what I want to purse in my future career.”
Fletcher, a rising junior studying sociology and criminology, will join the editorial board as the site’s first copy editor. Fletcher’s duties will include fixing any grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors in articles as well as assisting with The Underground’s new member orientation.
“It’s been really great being part of The Underground for the past year, and I’m excited to expand my role on the team by becoming a coy editor,” she said. “I love writing and love helping to make people’s writing stronger, and I’m looking forward to helping to assure The Underground continues to distribute quality news and content.”
